2014 Year 5 Winning Poetry:
Otto Paton, Rozelle Public School
Sunlight lies down and stretches out on the carpet.
Nearby bulldozes groan on at their eternal job.
Pots and pans clatter in the kitchen, an out of tune drum kit.
The golden air is rich and cool as I lounge on the couch.
Bantams erupt into a clucking chorus of crazy squeaks.
Amos scoots down the hall and bounces into the living room,
dragon cape and all.
“Hi,” he says.
